Lanterns JioHotstar India Release:
DC Studios is all set to bring a part of the new DC Universe to people in India. Lanterns, the awaited Green Lantern series is coming soon to JioHotstar, which means Indian DC fans will get to see this new superhero story from the day it is released internationally.
The series will officially start on August 16 2026 on HBO and HBO Max in the US. In India people can watch it on JioHotstar because of the platforms partnership with HBO Max.

What is Lanterns About?
Lanterns is two Green Lanterns, Hal Jordan and John Stewart who team up to solve a mysterious murder in the American heartland. At first it looks like a crime case but it slowly turns into something much bigger with connections to space.
Kyle Chandler plays the Lantern Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre plays the new Lantern John Stewart. The way they are different and have experiences is going to be one of the best things about the series.
This show is not a typical superhero series. It has a mystery like a story, Green Lantern mythology, action and parts of the bigger DC Universe.
Big Cast Behind the Series
The series has a cast, including Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre as well as Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, Laura Linney, Jason Ritter, Ulrich Thomsen and Nathan Fillion. Nathan Fillion plays Guy Gardner and Ulrich Thomsen plays Sinestro.
The series was created by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King and Chris Mundy is in charge of the show. James Hawes directed the two episodes.

Lanterns on JioHotstar
