Newton’s 3rd Law Review:

Newton’s 3rd Law is now streaming on ETV Win, and the film feels like the kind of thriller that might work better on OTT than it did in theatres.
Directed by Rajesh Karna, the film stars Sumanth in the lead, with Jagapathi Babu, Srinivas Avasarala, Ravi Varma, Trinadh Varma, Neha Pathan, Shelly N Kumar, Goutham Pandit, Karthik Rathnam and Harini Rao in supporting roles.
The film tries to blend crime, mystery, family drama and the idea of karma into one story. It doesn’t always get the balance right, but there is enough here to keep things interesting.

What Is Newton’s 3rd Law About?
The story revolves around a mysterious death that appears to be a suicide. But things don’t remain that simple for long.

Sumanth plays Vasudev, a police officer who starts digging into the case. His investigation slowly opens up a much older mystery connected to events from 1999.
Old secrets, complicated relationships and unanswered questions start coming together, making Vasudev realise that the case is much bigger than he initially thought.
The title itself refers to Newton’s famous law — every action has an equal and opposite reaction. The film uses that idea as a metaphor for how people’s decisions can eventually come back to haunt them.

Sumanth Keeps It Understated
Sumanth is one of the better things about the film.
He doesn’t play Vasudev like the typical larger-than-life cop. The performance is calm and restrained, which works well for an investigation-driven story.
Jagapathi Babu also brings weight to his role, while the supporting cast helps keep the narrative moving.
Where the Film Works
The central mystery is easily the film’s biggest strength.
Instead of rushing from one twist to another, the film slowly reveals information and allows the investigation to develop. The connection between the past and present is also interesting.
The final portion is probably where the film comes together best.

Where It Slows Down
The biggest issue is the pace.
Newton’s 3rd Law takes its time, and some stretches feel unnecessarily slow. The emotional and family-drama portions aren’t always as engaging as the actual mystery.
So don’t expect a nonstop thriller.
If you enjoy slow-burn investigations, though, the pace may not bother you as much.
Final Verdict
Newton’s 3rd Law is not a flawless thriller, but it has a decent mystery, a solid lead performance and enough twists to make it worth checking out.
OTT could actually be the right place for this film. If you like crime mysteries that take their time rather than throwing action at you every few minutes, give it a shot.
