Vishwanath And Sons OTT Review:

Vishwanath And Sons is currently streaming on Netflix, thus enabling Suriya fans to view the film right at the comfort of their home. Vishwanath And Sons is a Tamil family drama movie starring Suriya, Mamitha Baiju, Radhika Sarath Kumar, Raveena Tandon, and many other talented cast members.
This movie differs from the action movies which Suriya fans get used to seeing from him.
What is the plot about?
Sanjay Viswanath (Suriya) is an Indian business tycoon and heir who has won the country fame through the Olympic Gold Medal in shooting sport. Even at the age of 40, he does not want to marry due to some unpleasant experiences that happened during his youth.
The only dream of his mother (Radhika Sarath Kumar) is to see him married with kids that could carry on the family name. But Sanjay has another plan – he goes to America and has a child via surrogacy and takes him back to his native country.
Everything changes when the kid becomes very ill. The doctors inform Sanjay that in order to save the child, they need his biological mother. Therefore, Sanjay leaves for America again, trying to find the lady who gave birth to his kid.
Who is the biological mother of Sanjay’s kid? Will she come with him to India? How did the woman named Madana Kameswari, called Maddy (Mamitha Baiju), enter into Sanjay’s life?
How is the movie?
Vishwanath And Sons is a clean family entertainer that relies more on emotions and relationships than on action or commercial spectacle.
Venky Atluri has created a story that allows Suriya to explore a softer and more mature side. The character also carries shades of the dignified roles Suriya has played in the past. The age difference between the lead pair and the surrogacy-based emotional angle give the film a slightly different feel.
The first half works well, particularly because of the comedy and emotional moments involving Sanjay, Maddy and his mother. Their interactions provide some of the film’s more enjoyable portions.
The second half is where the film loses some momentum. The court-related portions and a few dramatic developments feel stretched. However, the story takes an interesting turn later with a twist involving Radhika Sarath Kumar’s character.
There are also emotional scenes involving Raveena Tandon’s Anjalidevi, her daughter and her parents. Nassar adds some entertaining moments, while the supporting cast helps keep the family drama engaging.
The ending is handled in a classy manner, although viewers looking for a bigger commercial finish may feel that the film could have offered more.
Performances
Another major highlight of this film is the performance of Suriya. He performs as Sanjay with a lot of class and control instead of opting for a larger-than-life performance.
Mamitha Baiju makes another major highlight of the film with her fresh performance and good screen chemistry with Suriya.
Radhika Sarath Kumar gives a good performance while Raveena Tandon, Nassar and others also perform quite well.
Music and Technical
The music composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar and the background score help in carrying out the emotional sections of the film in an effective manner. The visuals of the film are very appealing.
Venky Atluri makes some positive contributions in terms of screenplay and dialogue writing. However, the film does have the feeling of being a Tamil film dubbed into other languages in some portions.

Strengths
* Suriya’s mature performance
* Mamitha Baiju’s screen presence
* Good comedy and emotional moments
* Strong first half
* Family-friendly storytelling
* Music and visuals
Weaknesses
* Some portions of the second half feel stretched
* Court scenes could have been tighter
* Not ideal for viewers expecting a typical Suriya mass-action entertainer
Conclusion
Vishwanath And Sons is a family drama, which is good only when it centers on its characters. While the movie may lack the elements of action and mass appeal, which one may expect in Suriya’s film, the acting, emotions, and fun during the first half of the movie make it a good Netflix film.
If you want to watch a clean family movie, which has comedy and emotion along with a unique story, then add Vishwanath And Sons to your list.
