So, The House of the Spirits is finally getting its release — April 29 on Amazon Prime Video — and honestly, it doesn’t look like your usual binge-watch kind of show.
It feels slower. A bit heavier too.
From what it seems, the story moves across different generations, dealing with family, relationships, and all the baggage that comes with time. There’s also some political backdrop in there, and yeah, a slight supernatural touch — but it doesn’t look overdone.
What I like (at least from the early vibe) is that it doesn’t try too hard to impress. It just… unfolds. You kind of have to sit with it.
Not everyone’s going to have the patience for that, obviously. But if you’re into shows that take their own time and don’t spoon-feed everything, this might work for you.
Also, the whole setting has this muted, almost nostalgic feel. Like everything in that world has already lived through something.
Not saying it’s going to be perfect — but it does look interesting enough to check out when it drops.
