Toaster on Netflix: Not Loud, Not Flashy… Just Kinda Stays With You

Toaster Netflix review:

Toaster

Toaster is out on Netflix from today, and honestly this is one of those drops that didn’t make a huge noise but still kinda catches your attention.

It’s got Rajkummar Rao, Sanya Malhotra and Abhishek Banerjee in it, which already makes it feel a bit more interesting than your usual random release. Like, these three don’t usually do completely forgettable stuff.

Also… the name Toaster? I still don’t fully get it lol. Feels very random. Could mean something deep or could just be one of those films where normal everyday things somehow become the whole point.

From the vibe, it doesn’t look like a big, loud film. No heavy drama, no over-the-top moments (at least not on the surface). Feels more like… just people, situations, maybe some awkwardness, maybe things slowly getting weird. That kind of thing.

Rajkummar Rao is probably doing his usual “normal guy stuck in something slightly off” thing, which he’s really good at. Sanya Malhotra always feels super natural, like she’s barely acting. And Abhishek Banerjee… yeah he can go in any direction. Funny, creepy, both at the same time.

So yeah, not really giving “must-watch blockbuster” energy. More like something you casually click on and then halfway through you’re like okay wait this is actually kinda interesting.

It’s simple. Maybe too simple for some people. I can already imagine people going “nothing happens” — but sometimes those are the films that stick a bit more.

Anyway, it’s there now. Low expectations might actually help with this one.
