3 Idiots 2:
So this is something a lot of people didn’t really expect to hear so soon — but also kinda hoped for. Aamir Khan has confirmed that Rajkumar Hirani is working on the script for 3 Idiots 2. Yeah, that 3 Idiots.
Apparently, the story is going to be set around 10 years after the events of the first film, which honestly makes sense. It gives them space to show where everyone ended up instead of just forcing a continuation right away.
And the big thing — Rancho, Farhan, and Raju are all expected to return. That’s basically the heart of it, so without them it wouldn’t really work anyway. People are already imagining what their lives might look like now… like, did Rancho just disappear again doing his own thing? Is Farhan still chasing photography? What about Raju?
At this point, it sounds like it’s still in the writing stage, so nothing is locked in yet. But even this small confirmation is enough to get people talking again. The first film, 3 Idiots, is still one of those movies that people randomly rewatch and quote all the time, so there’s definitely a lot of emotional attachment there.
That also means expectations are going to be… pretty high. Like, really high. Sequels to films like this can go either way — they either hit the nostalgia just right or feel unnecessary.
For now, it’s just a “let’s see where this goes” situation. If Hirani cracks a solid story, it could actually work. If not, well… maybe some things are better left alone. But yeah, interesting times ahead for sure.
