Raakaasa is kinda dumb… but I still had fun lol

Raakaasa:

I watched Raakaasa on Netflix and yeah… I don’t even know how to properly explain this movie.

It’s like fantasy + comedy but not in a clean way. More like things just keep happening and you go with it. Some parts feel random, but not always in a bad way.

Sangeeth Sobhan is actually pretty chill in this. He doesn’t act like he’s in some over-the-top fantasy, which weirdly makes it better. He just feels normal while everything around him is kinda chaotic. Nayan Sarika is good too, but I feel like they didn’t give her enough to do? Like she’s there, she’s nice to watch, but that’s it mostly.

Comedy… okay this is where it’s mixed. There are scenes where I actually laughed, like proper laugh, and then suddenly there are jokes that just don’t land at all. It’s very up and down. You can almost feel the movie trying too hard in some places.

The idea itself is actually fun. Not very grand or anything, but different enough to keep you watching. But yeah, execution is a bit messy. Some scenes feel stretched, some feel rushed. No balance.

Also it’s in Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil also, which is nice I guess if you don’t want Telugu.

Overall… I didn’t hate it. It’s not a great film or anything, but it’s not boring either. It’s like a timepass movie you watch when you don’t want to think too much.

Would I recommend it? hmm… yeah, maybe once. Just don’t expect too much.
