ZEE5, known for delivering diverse content and full-on entertainment to OTT audiences, is coming up with yet another fresh series. Featuring Mega Brother and actor Nagababu Konidela and comedian Getup Srinu in lead roles, this series is set against a village backdrop. It blends local politics, unexpected chaos, and an engaging storyline.
Recently, the makers revealed the series title through a special video. The video featured Getup Srinu and Jaffer, and it quickly went viral across platforms, grabbing audience attention. The series, set in a rural backdrop, has been officially titled “Memu COPlam.”
When is it Streaming?
The series is directed by Pradeep Maddali, who gained popularity with the Vikatakavi series. It is produced by B. V. S. Ravi and Kaumudi Nemani under RAW Entertainment and Pradeep Maddali Creative Banners.
The series will soon be streaming on ZEE5. Along with Nagababu and Getup Srinu, Raviteja Nannimala plays a key role. The story is written by Shobhan Chittiprolu.
Title Controversy
Initially, the title “Memu Kapulam” faced backlash, with criticism that it referenced a caste name. Objections were raised on social media and in interviews.
However, the makers clarified the confusion with a poster, revealing the actual title as “Memu COPlam.” The title now conveys the meaning “We are cops,” effectively putting an end to the controversy. It remains to be seen whether any further discussions arise around this revised title.
What is the Story About?
The story is set in a village in the Godavari districts during the Sankranti festival. A strange incident during the celebrations creates chaos in the village. Two police officers take up the case—this being their first major investigation.
While they appear confident, they also feel a bit tense. The clues they discover and the events that follow turn into a series of humorous situations. Suspicion falls on everyone, leading to complete confusion. A small incident ends up changing the entire atmosphere of the village.

After Paruvu, this is Nagababu’s next project on ZEE5. He mentioned that he really liked the story of Memu COPlam:
