GOAT Netflix India release date:

If you’ve been waiting for a fun animated movie that isn’t just another talking-animal comedy, GOAT might actually surprise you. The American animated sports comedy is finally heading to Netflix India
on May 24, 2026, and honestly, it looks like one of those movies that’s going to become a comfort watch for a lot of people.
Made by Sony Pictures Animation — the same studio behind the Spider-Verse films — GOAT mixes sports drama, comedy, and chaotic animated action in a way that feels energetic without trying too hard.
The story follows a small goat named Will Harris who dreams of playing “Roarball,” a rough, high-impact sport dominated by giant animals. Nobody really expects him to survive in the league, let alone succeed. But that’s pretty much the whole charm of the movie. It leans fully into the classic underdog formula, yet keeps things fresh with fast-paced animation, funny character moments, and a surprisingly emotional core.
One thing people are already noticing is the voice cast. The film features names like Stephen Curry, Caleb McLaughlin, Gabrielle Union, David Harbour, and Nicola Coughlan. Curry also worked as a producer on the project, which explains why the sports side of the movie actually feels detailed instead of just background noise.
The film is directed by Tyree Dillihay and has a runtime of around 100 minutes, so it’s an easy weekend watch. Reviews so far have described it as funny, energetic, and unexpectedly heartfelt. It currently holds an IMDb rating around 6.7/10, which is fairly solid for an original animated sports comedy.
Netflix India is expected to stream the movie in multiple languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, with subtitles in additional regional languages as well.
What probably helps GOAT stand out is that it doesn’t feel overly serious, even when it’s doing the whole “believe in yourself” message. It’s colorful, loud, a little ridiculous at times, and fully aware of it. That balance is what makes sports animation work.
So if you’re into underdog stories, animated chaos, or just want something fun that doesn’t require a huge emotional commitment, GOAT could easily end up being one of the more entertaining Netflix releases this month.
