‘Shesha’ Review: Slow, Moody… But Weirdly Keeps You Watching

Shesha:

Shesha is now streaming on Sun NXT, and this honestly feels like one of those films a lot of people probably skipped in theatres but might end up8 discovering on OTT.

Directed by Pradeep Arsikere, Shesha is a Kannada film that came out in 2026, starring John Kaippallil, Pramod Shetty, Archana Kottige, and veteran actor Devaraj. It was also shot in Malayalam at the same time, which is kinda interesting because you can feel that slightly different storytelling vibe in parts.

Coming to the movie — Shesha isn’t some fast, commercial thriller trying to throw twists every ten minutes. It moves slowly.

Like… really slowly in some places. So if you’re expecting nonstop suspense and loud “mass” moments, this probably isn’t that film.

But weirdly, once it settles in, it starts pulling you into its mood.

The biggest thing the movie gets right is the atmosphere. There’s this constant uneasy feeling throughout, like something bad is sitting around the corner. The film doesn’t overdo drama, and that actually helps. It stays quiet, a bit dark, a bit tense.

Performance-wise, Pramod Shetty does what he usually does — brings intensity without making it look forced. Devaraj adds weight whenever he shows up, and the rest of the cast keeps things grounded enough.

Not gonna lie though, the pacing can test your patience. There are moments where you might check your phone for a second or feel like scenes could’ve moved faster. The film definitely takes its own sweet time.

Still, Shesha has something going for it. It’s not perfect, but it sticks to its tone and doesn’t suddenly turn into something else halfway through. And sometimes that works.

If you’re in the mood for a darker, slow-burn kind of thriller and don’t mind giving a film some time to build itself, Shesha might be actually be worth a watch.

Now streaming on Sun NXT — maybe keep this one for a late-night watch when you’re in the mood for something a little different.
