Gaayapadda Simham:
Tarun Bhascker’s latest film Gaayapadda Simham slipped into theatres earlier this month without making much noise. Now, the film has quietly arrived on Amazon Prime Video. Along with Telugu, it’s also streaming in Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada. Faria Abdullah and Manasa Choudhary play the female leads, while the film is directed by Kashyap Srinivas.
The story follows Darahas, played by Tarun Bhascker, a guy hopelessly in love with Shalini (Faria Abdullah). But there’s a problem — her father wants her to marry only someone settled in the US. So naturally, Darahas becomes obsessed with somehow getting to America.
Things don’t go the way he imagined though.
Because of a few political decisions linked to Trump, his plans completely collapse. Darahas slowly starts convincing himself that Trump is the reason his life got ruined, and what begins as frustration turns into a weird, personal revenge mission. Somewhere along the way, gangster Brutal Dharma, played by JD Chakravarthy, enters the picture and becomes part of this madness.
The film basically runs on that bizarre idea — one man blaming Trump for destroying his love story and trying to settle the score in his own chaotic way.
