So Netflix India just dropped the teaser for Operation Safed Sagar, and honestly, it looks intense. If you’re a fan of war movies or just aviation stuff in general, you’ll probably want to keep an eye on this one.
The teaser sets the stage by reminding us that the 1999 Kargil War wasn’t just a ground battle; it was fought thousands of feet up in the air [00:00]. The story follows the “Golden Arrows” squadron, which apparently had some of the youngest fighter pilots in the Western Air Command at the time [00:13].
It looks like the plot kicks off with these young pilots getting a new, no-nonsense coach [00:17] to train them for a brutal mission. They are dealing with terrible weather, anti-aircraft guns firing at them from below, and the absolute chaos of war [00:25]. There’s a great line in there about how “close formation is not about fighter jets, it’s about the fighters” [00:40], which gives you a pretty good idea of the emotional weight they’re aiming for.
Things clearly escalate when a photo reconnaissance squadron is suddenly tasked with actual bombing runs [00:57], leading to intense aerial dogfights and a lot of high-stakes tension.
