Maddock Films and Prime Video Seal Blockbuster 8-Film Streaming Deal: A New Era for Indian Cinema

In a game-changing move for Indian cinema, Maddock Films, the powerhouse production house led by Dinesh Vijan, has inked a historic eight-film post-theatrical streaming deal with Amazon Prime Video. This landmark partnership, announced by Vijan and Manish Menghani, Director and Head of Content Licensing for Prime Video India, marks the largest collaboration of its kind, promising to bring a diverse slate of cinematic gems to global audiences after their big-screen runs

A Cinematic Powerhouse Meets a Streaming Giant
Maddock Films has been redefining Bollywood with its bold storytelling and genre-defining hits like Stree 2, Munjya, and Chhaava. Known for its innovative horror-comedy universe and emotionally resonant dramas, the production house has consistently delivered box-office smashes, grossing over ₹1,300 crore in 2024 alone. Now, with Prime Video’s global reach, this partnership is set to amplify Maddock’s vision, bringing its unique narratives to millions of viewers worldwide.

“This collaboration is a natural extension of our shared vision to take Indian storytelling to a global stage,” said Dinesh Vijan, CEO and founder of Maddock Films. “Our films are crafted to resonate with audiences, and Prime Video’s platform will ensure these stories find a home beyond theaters.”

Manish Menghani echoed this enthusiasm, stating, “We’re thrilled to deepen our partnership with Maddock Films. This slate not only builds on their iconic horror-comedy universe but also introduces fresh, creative stories that align with our commitment to diverse, compelling content.”

What’s Coming to Prime Video?
The eight-film deal is a vibrant mix of genres, showcasing Maddock’s signature blend of innovation and entertainment. Leading the slate are:

Thama: A much-anticipated horror-comedy that expands Maddock’s beloved cinematic universe, promising thrills and laughs in equal measure.

Param Sundari: Starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, this romantic drama is set to hit theaters on August 29, 2025, before streaming exclusively on Prime Video.

Shiddat 2 and Badlapur 2: Sequels to Maddock’s fan-favorite franchises, these films promise to build on the emotional intensity and gripping narratives of their predecessors.
Ikkis: Directed by Sriram Raghavan and starring Agastya Nanda, this period drama is poised to be a standout, blending historical depth with cinematic flair.

Three Additional Titles: Including two new entries in Maddock’s horror-comedy universe, details of which are yet to be revealed, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.

This diverse lineup reflects Maddock’s knack for balancing commercial success with creative storytelling, a formula that has made it a force in Indian cinema.

Building on a Winning Partnership
The Maddock-Prime Video collaboration isn’t new. The streaming giant has previously hosted Maddock’s blockbusters like Stree 2, which became one of Prime Video’s biggest global streaming hits, along with Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Bhool Chuk Maaf, and the original series Jee Karda. This new deal builds on that success, ensuring that Maddock’s upcoming theatrical releases will find a second life on Prime Video, reaching audiences across 240 countries and territories.

The partnership comes at a pivotal moment for Maddock Films, fresh off the record-breaking success of Stree 2, which grossed ₹900 crore globally, and Chhaava, both cementing Vijan’s reputation as a trailblazer. With Prime Video’s robust platform, these films are poised to captivate a broader audience, from India’s heartlands to international markets.

Why This Deal Matters
This collaboration signals a new era for Indian cinema, where theatrical and OTT platforms work hand-in-hand to maximize reach and impact. By securing exclusive streaming rights post-theatrical release, Prime Video ensures that fans can experience Maddock’s films in cinemas before enjoying them at home, preserving the magic of the big screen while embracing the accessibility of streaming.

For Maddock Films, the deal underscores its commitment to pushing boundaries. “Our goal is to create worlds that audiences love to revisit,” Vijan said. “This partnership allows us to do that on an unprecedented scale.”
