A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens is getting another screen adaptation and this one is already creating some interest among readers and fans of period dramas.
The story is one of Dickens’ well-known books set against the background of the French Revolution. At the heart of it are love, sacrifice, political problems and the big difference between the lives of people and the rich group.
The book follows Charles Darnay, Sydney Carton and Lucie Manette whose lives get closely linked as the French Revolution causes France to go through a time of violence and unsureness. Sydney Carton in particular is one of Dickens’ unforgettable characters because of the sacrifice he eventually makes.
A new version of a classic
The thing about this new adaptation is that it will show Dickens’ story to a new group of people. A Tale of Two Cities has already had versions for movies and TV shows so the big question is how this new one will handle the well-known story.
The original book has a lot of drama, love and political tension. Its main feeling is really about sacrifice and getting a second chance. That gives the adaptation a lot to work with if the creators can keep those feelings strong instead of making it just another period drama.
Is it going to be on Prime Video?
The movie or series is now being talked about as coming out on September 6 with Prime Video India being the place to watch it. However the September 6 date and Prime Video India being the place to watch it should be considered not confirmed.

Prime Video does have versions of A Tale of Two Cities in its collection, including the 1980 TV version but that is a different title and should not be mixed up with the new one.
At this time fans of Dickens have another reason to watch for the title. A new version of A Tale of Two Cities could be interesting if it offers a look while staying true to the feelings of the original book.
