Since the launch of Apple TV in 2019, the price of the service has increased significantly.

In 2019, when Apple started streaming services, Apple TV+ cost just $4.99 per month in the US. However, by the end of 2026, this very service will cost $14.99 per month.

Yes, you read correctly; the price increased three times.

Here is the list of yearly changes in Apple TV’s monthly subscription price:

As of August 28, 2026, the price of Apple TV+ in the US increased from $12.99 to $14.99 per month. New customers pay a new price instantly, while older customers receive notifications prior to the higher price becoming applicable in the billing cycle.

This price increase is not the first one in the history of Apple TV+ subscription. The subscription price changed in 2022 from $4.99 to $6.99. In 2023, the subscription price increased from $6.99 to $9.99. In 2025, the price was increased from $9.99 to $12.99. Now, $2 was additionally added to the price.

So, customers who used to pay $4.99 for Apple TV+ now have to pay three times more – $14.99 per month.

The annual subscription price of the service also increased. Now, it is $119 per year instead of $99. The price of Individual Apple One subscription increased from $19.95 to $21.95 per month.

However, Apple TV+ does not offer a cheaper plan with ads as most competitors do. The ad-free plan still costs $14.99 per month.

It seems that Apple believes that increasing library makes this price justified. With popular shows like Ted Lasso, Severance and The Morning Show, movies, and even live sports such as Formula 1, MLB and MLS, Apple TV+ is gaining its identity in the streaming services field.

Nevertheless, the question for customers becomes more and more frequent – is it worth to pay $14.99 per month?

It was quite easy to answer this question when the price was $4.99 per month. Now, with $14.99 price, people may start reconsidering their decisions.
