Awarapan 2 has finally reached theatres, and along with the excitement around Emraan Hashmi’s return, there’s another question making the rounds online — has Prime Video acquired the film’s digital streaming rights?
A social media claim suggesting that Prime Video India has picked up the OTT rights of Awarapan 2 has started getting attention. But before fans start waiting for the film to arrive on the platform, there’s one important thing to know.
The Prime Video deal has not been officially confirmed yet.
Awarapan 2 is releasing in cinemas on August 14, 2026, bringing Emraan Hashmi back to the world of the much-loved 2007 film. The sequel has generated plenty of curiosity because of the original movie’s strong fan following and its emotional ending.
As of now, however, there is no official announcement from Prime Video India or the makers of Awarapan 2 confirming that the platform has acquired the digital streaming rights.
Streaming trackers are also not currently listing a confirmed OTT platform or streaming date for the sequel. So, while Prime Video could potentially be the digital home for the film, the information doing the rounds on social media should still be treated as a rumour rather than confirmed news.
What about the OTT release date?
