Drishyam 3:
Okay so this came a bit out of nowhere — Drishyam 3 just got a huge push.
Apparently, PEN Studios is investing around ₹100 crore into the film, through Panorama Studios. That’s… honestly kind of massive for a film like this. Like,
Drishyam was always more about story and tension, not big budgets. So this change is interesting. Also, release date is fixed — May 21, 2026. So yeah, it’s officially happening.
The film is again being written and directed by Jeethu Joseph, which is probably the best thing about this update. Because let’s be real, if someone else handled it, people would be super doubtful. The first two parts worked mainly because of his writing and the way he builds tension slowly.
Mohanlal is obviously back. I mean, there’s no Drishyam without him. His character Georgekutty is basically the whole game. That calm face + smart moves combo… that’s what people are coming for again.
Produced by Antony Perumbavoor, so the main team hasn’t changed. That’s a relief.
But yeah, the biggest surprise here is the scale. ₹100 crore backing means they’re probably planning something bigger this time — maybe wider release, maybe more reach outside Malayalam audience. Feels like they want to push it as a pan-India thing.
At the same time, not gonna lie, expectations are now going to be crazy high. The first two films already set the bar pretty high. Especially part 2… that ending still stays in your head.
No idea what the story is this time, and honestly better if they keep it that way. Drishyam works best when you don’t know anything going in.
Right now it just feels like — okay, this is not just “part 3” anymore. This is turning into a big event film.
Let’s see if they actually pull it off or not
