IT: Welcome to Derry Season 2 :

The nightmare in Derry isn’t over yet. IT: Welcome to Derry has officially been renewed for Season 2, and this time the story is going even further back into the town’s dark past.
HBO has confirmed that the second season will be set in 1935, almost three decades before the events of Season 1. So yes, we’re going back to Derry again — but this time the town is going to look very different.
Season 2 Takes Us to 1935
Season 1 was set in 1962, but the creators have always had a bigger plan for the series. Season 2 will move back to 1935, during the Great Depression.
And honestly, that time period could make the show even darker.
Derry in 1935 won’t be the familiar small-town setting viewers saw in Season 1. The story will explore a much poorer and harsher version of the town, where people are struggling with unemployment, poverty and survival. Creator Andy Muschietti has also said the difficult social conditions of the 1930s will be an important part of the story.
The Bradley Gang Story
The new season will reportedly revolve around the Bradley Gang, a group of bank robbers who arrive in Derry after stopping there to buy ammunition.
What starts as a stopover turns into something much worse.
Fans of Stephen King’s novel may already know the Bradley Gang story, but the series is expected to expand it and connect it to the terrifying history of Derry and the creature known as It.
This could also give the show a completely different flavour. Instead of simply repeating the formula from Season 1, the creators are taking another dark chapter from Derry’s past and building a new story around it.
Will Pennywise Return?
That’s the big question.
The first season made it clear that Pennywise is deeply connected to Derry’s history, and Season 2 is expected to explore more of that mythology. Bill Skarsgård’s return has been strongly teased, although the complete Season 2 cast has not yet been officially revealed.
And let’s be honest — a trip back to 1935 without Pennywise would be a little disappointing for fans.
A Bigger Story Is Coming
The creators have previously talked about Welcome to Derry as a multi-season story that moves backward through different periods of Derry’s history.
Season 1 explored 1962, Season 2 goes to 1935, and the larger plan has also included 1908 as another major period from the town’s past.
So this isn’t just another season made because the first one was successful. There is clearly a bigger idea behind the series.

No Release Date Yet
HBO has confirmed Season 2, but an official release date has not been announced yet. The writers are already working on the new season, with Andy and Barbara Muschietti and showrunner Brad Caleb Kane returning.
For horror fans, though, the most important news is simple: Derry is calling us back.
And this time, we’re going to 1935.
Are you excited to see Pennywise and the dark history of Derry return in Season 2?
