Red, White & Royal Wedding
Fans, prepare your tissues (and your Union Jacks), because the Red, White & Royal Blue sequel officially has a title — and it’s just as swoony as we hoped. Amazon Studios confirmed today that the next chapter in the beloved rom-com universe will be called Red, White & Royal Wedding, with Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine both set to reprise their roles as America’s First Son and the UK’s most reluctant royal heartthrob.
Yep — they’re getting hitched.
The title pretty much says it all: after the slow-burn enemies-to-lovers magic of the first film, it looks like Alex and Prince Henry are headed down the aisle. Details on the plot are still under wraps (we don’t know when or where the royal wedding will take place, or what chaos their families might bring to the table), but honestly? Just knowing we’re getting more of these two is enough to keep fans fed for now.
The first Red, White & Royal Blue, based on Casey McQuiston’s hit novel, became an instant cult fave when it premiered on Prime Video in 2023 — winning hearts with its cheeky dialogue, genuine chemistry, and unapologetically romantic core. It struck a major chord, especially with LGBTQ+ audiences who finally got the kind of big, glossy, fairytale love story so often reserved for straight leads.
So naturally, expectations for the sequel are high. Will Henry’s royal duties clash with Alex’s political ambitions? Will we see more of Nora, Pez, and Zahra? Will there be a drama-filled wedding prep montage set to a Robyn song? (Please, universe.)
Director Matthew López, who helmed the first film, is also returning for round two, which is great news — he clearly gets what makes this story work: it’s not just about the romance, but about identity, visibility, and carving out joy in spaces where it wasn’t always welcome.
Filming is expected to begin soon, but for now, fans can revel in the bliss of knowing that this love story isn’t over — in fact, it’s about to say “I do.”
