The wait for Jailer 2 is getting more exciting. A new poster for the Rajinikanth starrer has arrived with a clear message for fans — Jailer 2 is coming to IMAX worldwide on October 15, 2026.
The poster itself is packed with the kind of mass vibe that fans expect from the Jailer franchise. Rajinikanth is seen walking straight towards the camera, with a classic car behind him and a huge explosion filling the background. The whole visual has that larger-than-life action feel, and honestly, it looks made for the big screen.
The poster also confirms the key names behind the film. Nelson is returning as the writer-director, while Anirudh is handling the music. The film is presented by Kalanithi Maran, with Rajinikanth leading the cast.
Jailer 2 Coming to IMAX
The biggest highlight of this announcement is obviously the IMAX release. The poster specifically carries the words “Experience it in IMAX Worldwide,” pointing towards a theatrical experience designed on a much bigger scale.
And for a Rajinikanth film filled with action, explosions and big mass moments, the IMAX format could make those sequences even more impactful.
Rajinikanth Returns as the Jailer
Rajinikanth’s look in the new poster keeps things simple but powerful. He is dressed in a dark outfit, wearing glasses and walking confidently through what looks like the aftermath of a massive blast.
There isn’t much revealed about the story yet, but the poster definitely doesn’t look like a quiet continuation. It promises another high-energy chapter with Rajinikanth at the centre of the action.
Nelson and Anirudh Back for Jailer 2
One of the biggest reasons fans are looking forward to Jailer 2 is the reunion of Nelson and Rajinikanth. The first Jailer became known for its mix of action, comedy, stylish presentation and strong mass moments.
With Nelson back in the director’s chair and Anirudh once again providing the music, the sequel has the same core creative team behind it.

For now, the makers are keeping the plot details under wraps. But this latest poster has already given fans something to talk about.
Jailer 2 is scheduled to hit cinemas on October 15, 2026, with an IMAX worldwide release. If this poster is any indication, the makers are clearly aiming for a big-screen celebration rather than a regular sequel.
