Kalki makers to rope in Alia?
After Deepika Padukone’s exit from ‘Kalki 2989 AD’, reportedly after a row over 8-hr shift and exorbitant fee, there has been speculation on who would replace the actress. However, according to industry sources, National Award winning actress Alia Bhatt is likey to replace Deepika in sequel.
The makers have reportedly approached Alia, and if sources are to be believed, an announcement in this regard would be announced anytime soon.
Not just Kalki, the makers of ‘Spirit’, starting Prabhas, have parted ways with Deepika after a tiff with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. It may be recalled that Deepika’s exit from the movies has sparked debates on the 8-hr shift and the conditions laid out by the senior actors in the industry.
According to reports, creative and contractual disagreements have led to Deepika’s exit. It is said that Deepika has allegedly demanded 25 per cent fee hike, 8-hr work shift, better accomodation for her and her team, which the producers found excessive.
