Pralay:
Kalyani Priyadarshan is on a streak, and her next project is a massive one.
Post the huge success of her latest movie Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra, the actress is all set to headline her Bollywood debut opposite Ranveer Singh in Pralay. But trust us when we say that this is going to be no easy ride for her.
Lokah has brought Kalyani to the limelight. Her excellent performance as Chandra made her one of the most discussed actresses of South Indian Cinema, post which she gained much-needed recognition for her acting skills following the commercial success of the movie.
But now she is entering a new domain with Pralay.
Pralay is described as an epic post-apocalyptic zombie thriller directed by Jai Mehta and starring Ranveer Singh. Kalyani is reported to essay the role of the female lead in the movie, which is expected to include many action-filled scenes.
This is what makes the casting very interesting. Given that Kalyani has just delivered one of the most impressive performances in a physical role in Lokah, taking up an action film is quite natural for her.
The buzz behind her joining the film is quite interesting. It is reported that Ranveer Singh himself reached out to her and got her convinced about taking up the film. Initially, she was reluctant about making her Bollywood debut, but later she changed her mind.
Another factor behind this is the scale at which the film is going to be made. Reportedly, Pralay is one of those films that is being made on a massive budget and has action scenes on a great level.
As far as Kalyani is concerned, this is the perfect time for her. Not only has she garnered a lot of recognition for her acting skills in South Indian Cinema, but Lokah has also increased her exposure in Bollywood. Pralay will allow her to cash in on that momentum.
And a Ranveer Singh film is bound to draw eyeballs, anyway.
While the specifics of her role are yet to be known, one thing is certain — her Bollywood debut is going to be a remarkable one.
After Lokah, Kalyani is directly moving to Pralay. And this could very well be the project that takes her from a South Indian phenomenon to a pan-India
