Karthi’s “Vaa Vaathiyaar” Postponed: Fans Left Hanging

Tamil cinema fans were gearing up for a holiday treat, but Karthi’s Vaa Vaathiyaar has hit an unexpected roadblock. The film, initially set for December 5, then pushed to December 12, is now stalled by a Madras High Court order over a financial dispute involving its producers.
Studio Green, led by K.E. Gnanavel Raja, is reportedly tied up in unpaid loans, and the court has ordered a temporary stay until the matter is resolved. This means the eagerly awaited entertainer, featuring Karthi and Krithi Shetty, won’t hit theaters as planned.
Fans had been buzzing over the trailer, songs, and behind-the-scenes glimpses of what promised to be a quirky, MGR-inspired flick. Now, all that excitement is on pause.

The timing couldn’t be worse. With holiday crowds and distributor plans in place, the delay could disrupt multiple release schedules. Even more frustrating, the film has already cleared censorship with a U/A certificate — it’s ready, just not allowed to release.
For Karthi, who hasn’t had a major release in a while, this is a bitter setback. Social media reactions range from sympathy (“It’s not Karthi’s fault!”) to frustration (“Why always last-minute drama?”).
For now, Vaa Vaathiyaar remains the film that almost was, and fans can only wait for the legal knots to untangle.
