‘Karuppu’ Finally Releases After Last-Minute Chaos; Fans Go Wild as Karthi, Trisha Surprise Crowd

Karuppu:

After days of tension and confusion, Suriya’s Karuppu — released in Telugu as Veerabhadrudu — finally made it to theatres today. Fans had almost given up hope after the May 14 shows were suddenly cancelled at the last minute, leaving many upset and frustrated. But overnight, things somehow fell into place, and the film eventually hit screens on May 15.

The delay clearly didn’t kill the hype. Fans gathered outside theatres in huge numbers, bursting crackers, dancing, and celebrating the release like a festival. One of the biggest surprises came at a Chennai theatre, where director RJ Balaji showed up along with Karthi and Trisha Krishnan. Their appearance sent the crowd into a frenzy.

Videos from the theatre are now all over social media, especially a touching moment where an emotional RJ Balaji was hugged and congratulated by Trisha after seeing the fans’ response.

Meanwhile, the film team also thanked Vijay for allowing early morning shows in Tamil Nadu. A “Special Thanks to CM Vijay” card was even shown during the opening credits.

Interestingly, Karuppu is now being seen as the first film to officially refer to Vijay by his political title inside theatres after his entry into politics.
