Mohanlal Operation Ganga:

Mohanlal has a new film, and this one already feels like something quite different.
The superstar’s upcoming project with director Vishnu Mohan has now been officially titled Operation Ganga, after being referred to as L367 for months. And honestly, the title itself is enough to get people curious.
The first poster looks striking too. It carries a serious, large-scale feel, with the Ukraine connection immediately standing out. There’s no flashy commercial-movie treatment here. Instead, the poster gives the impression that this could be a tense and emotional story built around a major real-world event.

The film is directed by Vishnu Mohan, who previously made Meppadiyan and Kadha Innuvare. The project is backed by Gokulam Gopalan’s Sree Gokulam Movies and is expected to be made on a big canvas
And yes, Operation Ganga is connected to the Indian evacuation mission during the Russia-Ukraine war. The actual Operation Ganga was launched in 2022 to bring stranded Indian citizens back from Ukraine and neighbouring countries. But director Vishnu Mohan had earlier clarified that his film is inspired by multiple real incidents, rather than being a straightforward army movie.
That detail makes the project even more interesting.
Mohanlal has done plenty of larger-than-life roles over the years, but a story like this gives him room to work with something grounded in real events. There is also a natural emotional angle here because the evacuation involved ordinary students and families caught in a situation they never expected to face.
The casting is another reason the film is getting attention. Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal and actress Bhagyashri Borse are part of the project, while Shashwat Sachdev, known for his work on Dhurandhar, is composing the music.
And that combination is certainly interesting.

Mohanlal in the lead, Vishnu Mohan behind the camera, a real-events-inspired story, an international setting and a technically strong team — there are quite a few pieces here that could come together really well.
Of course, it is still too early to say what kind of film Operation Ganga will finally turn out to be. The makers have kept much of the story under wraps, and the poster is doing exactly what a good first look should do: give us a few clues and leave us wanting more.
For now, though, the title has landed.
And judging by the poster, Mohanlal’s Operation Ganga could be one of the more intriguing films in his upcoming lineup.
