The Paradise Day 1 Box Office Collection:
Nani’s latest outing The Paradise has made a big noise at the box office right from Day 1. The film has reportedly collected a massive ₹72.5 crore worldwide gross, including premieres, with the India gross standing at ₹50.7 crore and the overseas markets contributing ₹21.8 crore.
For Nani, this is a huge opening and shows the kind of curiosity and expectations the film had built before its release.
Directed by Srikanth Odela, The Paradise marks the reunion of Nani and the director after their successful collaboration on Dasara. This time, the duo has gone for a much darker and more intense world, set in 1980s Secunderabad and revolving around the struggles of the marginalised Savari community.
Nani plays Jadal, a rugged and intense character that is quite different from the more relatable roles he has usually been seen in. His long braided look, physical transformation and aggressive body language have become one of the major talking points of the movie. Reviews have also praised the actor for fully committing to the character, especially during the action sequences.

The supporting cast is another strong part of the film. Mohan Babu, Raghav Juyal, Kayadu Lohar and Sonali Kulkarni play important roles, along with Sampoornesh Babu, Keerthy Suresh, Easwari Rao, Tanikella Bharani and others. Mohan Babu, in particular, brings a strong screen presence as Shikanja Malik, while Raghav Juyal gets a darker role as Vikram Malik.
One of the biggest positives of The Paradise is the world created by Srikanth Odela. The period setting, Telangana flavour, production design and raw atmosphere give the movie a distinct identity. The action sequences also seem to be getting plenty of appreciation, with the first half especially managing to build tension and curiosity around Jadal and his world.
Anirudh Ravichander’s music and background score add another layer to the film, while the cinematography and production design help sell the gritty setting. The action has also been singled out as one of the film’s more consistent technical strengths.

That said, the movie has not escaped criticism either. A section of reviews feels that the second half loses some of the momentum created in the first half, with the screenplay becoming repetitive and the emotional beats not landing as strongly. Some critics have also felt that the basic oppressed-community-versus-powerful-oppressor storyline feels familiar, despite the film’s ambitious presentation.
There have also been comments about the sound mixing and editing, particularly in some of the louder action portions, while the supporting characters reportedly don’t always get enough depth.
Still, the audience response and the opening numbers show that The Paradise has clearly managed to create a strong theatrical pull. With ₹72.5 crore worldwide already in the bag on Day 1, the focus now shifts to the weekend. If the film manages to maintain decent momentum over the next few days, these opening numbers could turn into a much bigger theatrical run.
For now, Nani and Srikanth Odela’s The Paradise has made a powerful start — ₹72.5 crore worldwide is certainly not a number to ignore.
