Need a Mid-Week Chill? Eesha Just Hit Prime Video UK (and it’s a Spooky One)

If you’re in the UK and looking for a reason to keep the lights on tonight, Prime Video just quietly added the Telugu horror-thriller Eesha to their rental store. It’s one of those “blink and you’ll miss it” digital drops, but for fans of gritty, atmospheric horror, it’s definitely worth the couple of quid for a rental.

The Premise: Skeptics vs. The Supernatural

The story follows four childhood friends—Naina (Hebah Patel), Kalyan (Thrigun), Vinay, and Aparna—who are basically the “MythBusters” of their circle. They firmly believe that ghosts are nothing more than psychological tricks and spend their time exposing fake godmen and tantriks.

Things get interesting when they cross paths with Dr. Adidev (played by Babloo Prithiveeraj), a former neurosurgeon turned “swami.” He challenges them to spend three nights in a supposedly haunted, abandoned house to prove their point. You can probably guess that things don’t go exactly as planned.

Why You Should Give it a Watch

Hebah Patel’s Lead Turn: It’s great to see Hebah in a role that isn’t just a glamorous “love interest.” She carries a lot of the emotional weight here, and her transition from total skeptic to terrified survivor feels earned.

That Gritty Atmosphere: Director Srinivas Manne (the man behind the cult favorite Katha) doesn’t rely solely on loud jump scares. The film spends time building a sense of dread in the second half that actually works.

The “Science vs. Spirit” Debate: While it follows some familiar horror tropes, the movie tries to dig into why people believe in the supernatural. It’s a bit more “thinky” than your average slasher.

 A Quick Reality Check

Look, I’m not going to tell you it’s the next Virupaksha. The first half can feel a little slow as it sets up the characters, and some of the “twists” might be easy to spot if you’re a horror veteran. But as a late-night rental when you’re craving some Tollywood-style chills, it hits the spot.

If you’ve got an hour or two to spare and want to see if the skeptics survive the night, head over to Prime Video UK and grab it on rent. Just maybe… leave the hallway light on?
