OTT censorship rules in India:

The Central Government is thinking about making rules for OTT films. Now only movies that are shown in theaters have to follow these rules.. The government wants to change this and make OTT films follow the same rules. This is because there have been some problems with OTT films recently.
OTT films are currently controlled by the Information Technology rules that were made in 2021. These rules are different from the rules for releases. OTT films do not need to get a certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification. This means that some films that were not allowed to be shown in theaters because they were too controversial have been released on OTT platforms instead. The government wants to change this and make sure that OTT films also need to get a certificate before they can be released. They are also talking about whether web series should have to follow the rules.
There was a problem with the film *Satluj* recently. This film stars Diljit Dosanjh. The people who check films to make sure they are okay to be shown in theaters said that *Satluj* needed to be edited a lot. The people who made the film did not want to make these changes. So they released *Satluj* on an OTT platform without editing it.. Then the film was removed from the OTT platform after just two days. This was because of concerns, about security and OTT films. The government is looking at OTT films. Thinking about how to deal with these kinds of problems. OTT films are an issue and the government wants to make sure they are regulated properly.
