Peddi OTT version adds 20 minutes

The runtime of “Peddi” is 3 hours and 3 minutes—quite a lengthy film. After its theatrical release, a few scenes featuring Janhvi Kapoor were trimmed, which reduced the overall length. Now the film is soon heading to OTT, and the “Peddi” team is adopting a new strategy for digital audiences: they are planning to add new scenes exclusively for streaming viewers, extending the runtime by another 20 minutes. As a result, the OTT version of “Peddi” is expected to run for around 3 hours and 25 minutes.

Director Buchi Babu Sana had originally shot several emotional scenes highlighting the bond between Ram Charan and Jagapathi Babu, but those sequences were removed during the editing process. Reportedly, Jagapathi Babu was a bit upset about this decision and even told Buchi Babu that “no emotional scenes that carry the soul of the film should be cut, no matter the runtime.” However, by then, the film had already been released. Those scenes are now being restored for the OTT version.

Additionally, some sequences featuring Shivarajkumar and Ram Charan were also cut earlier, and they too will now be included in the OTT release. With this extra 20 minutes of footage, even theatrical viewers may be tempted to rewatch the film on OTT, while digital audiences are already showing strong interest. This could significantly boost viewership.

Netflix has acquired the OTT rights for “Peddi,” purchasing them at a base price of ₹55 crore. Beyond that, the agreement includes an additional clause where Netflix will pay ₹30 crore for every ₹100 crore the film earns at the box office.
