Peddi Trailer: A Raw Sports Epic of Struggle, Equality & Emotion

Peddi:

The much-awaited ‘Peddi’ trailer, which fans have been eagerly waiting for, has finally been released. Director Buchi Babu Sana, who had previously showcased Ram Charan as a cricketer and a wrestler through glimpses and songs, now introduces the core conflict of the story and the world of Peddi in much greater detail through this trailer.

The trailer opens with an intense train emergency sequence, immediately setting a gripping tone. Later, through Boman Irani’s character, the world of Peddi is introduced, establishing the protagonist’s stature with the dialogue: “Here, the favorite game changes, but not the player.”

There was already speculation that Ram Charan would appear as a “sporting laborer” in this film. The trailer now confirms it through Divyendu Sharma’s dialogue. Peddi is not just a cricketer but also skilled in wrestling, running, and multiple sports. The character is uniquely designed as a “cross-over athlete,” which feels fresh and innovative.

Janhvi Kapoor’s entry adds a romantic layer to the story. Her character appears to be designed with a mass appeal touch by Buchi Babu, and her dialogues and body language strongly reflect a rural backdrop.

However, the core concept of Peddi is hidden in a dialogue delivered by Jagapathi Babu:
“When we are all born on the same land… why does a person have more value where you are, and less value where we are?”
This reveals the film’s central conflict—its theme of fighting for equality.

Ram Charan’s powerful line, “Don’t ask who has manhood to win with words—come and prove it with the game!” stands out as a major highlight of the trailer.

Another impactful dialogue, “You all think I played… but I fought,” showcases the emotional depth of the character.

Shivarajkumar’s line, “We need someone who keeps the game alive,” adds further emotional weight to Peddi’s journey.

Overall, the trailer feels like a “Peddi show.” From start to finish, Ram Charan is completely immersed in the role. His body transformation, rugged look, and body language reflect the intense effort he has put into the character.

Buchi Babu avoids unnecessary elevation scenes and instead focuses only on what is essential for the story and characters. Because of this, the trailer feels not just like a mass entertainer, but also like an emotional sports drama.

The recreation of the 1980s backdrop stands out strongly. It is said that around 70 sets were built for the film, but the visuals feel so natural that it looks like it was shot in real villages rather than constructed sets.

A. R. Rahman’s background score is another major strength of the trailer. Especially in the second half, his emotional musical beats elevate the experience powerfully. By the end, the trailer fully immerses the audience into the world of Peddi.

With already high expectations on the film, this trailer has taken the anticipation to another level.
