Prime Video Isn’t Slowing Down With Reacher Season 5 Is Already Happening

Turns out Reacher isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Before Season 4 has even premiered, Prime Video has already renewed the action series for a fifth season, which honestly says a lot about how massive the show has become for the platform.

At this point, the renewal probably won’t surprise anyone who’s been paying attention. Reacher has quietly turned into one of Prime Video’s most reliable hits — big action scenes, straightforward storytelling, brutal fight sequences, and a lead character who basically walks into town and solves problems with his fists and a very intense stare.

Alan Ritchson has become pretty inseparable from the role of Jack Reacher since the series launched. Even people who had never read the original Jack Reacher books seem fully on board now. And longtime readers have generally been happy too, especially because the show leans much closer to the version of Reacher from the novels.

What’s interesting is how confident Prime Video clearly is in the series right now. Renewing a show before the next season even airs usually means the numbers behind the scenes are extremely strong. Streaming platforms don’t exactly hand out early renewals unless they know audiences are sticking around.

There’s still very little information about Season 5 itself, since Season 4 hasn’t even arrived yet, but fans are already guessing which Lee Child novel the show could adapt next. That’s become part of the fun with Reacher at this point — every season brings a new location, new enemies, and another reason for Reacher to absolutely wreck a group of people who underestimated him.

And honestly, the formula still works.

One thing the series has done well is keeping things simple in a good way. It doesn’t try too hard to reinvent itself or become overly complicated. It knows exactly what audiences are showing up for: mystery, tension, dry humor, and watching Reacher dismantle bad guys twice his size without breaking a sweat.

With Season 5 now officially locked in, Prime Video is making it pretty clear that Reacher remains one of the platform’s biggest franchises. And considering how popular the show still is online, there’s a good chance it won’t stop there.
