Spirit Movie Release Date:

If you’ve been on Twitter (X) or any film forum in the last 48 hours, you probably saw the panic. There were all these whispers and “inside reports” claiming that the massive Prabhas and Sandeep Reddy Vanga collab, Spirit, was getting pushed back to late 2027. Honestly, my heart sank for a second—waiting for a Vanga film is already an exercise in patience.
But I have some actual good news for once: it was all just noise.
The makers have officially stepped in to shut the rumors down. They’ve confirmed that Spirit is still moving full steam ahead for its original theatrical debut on March 5, 2027. No delays, no schedule shifts, nothing. It’s staying exactly where it was.
It sounds like the rumors started because people were worried about a potential box office clash with Salman Khan’s next big project (directed by Vamshi Paidipally), which is looking at an Eid 2027 release. But the Spirit team basically said, “We’re good,” and decided to stick to their guns.
If you’ve forgotten just how much of a behemoth this movie is going to be, here’s a quick refresher:
Prabhas as a Cop: He’s playing an intense IPS officer.
The Vanga Touch: Sandeep Reddy Vanga (Animal, Arjun Reddy) is writing, directing, and editing. So expect it to be raw, loud, and probably very polarizing.
The Cast: We’ve got Triptii Dimri as the female lead, Vivek Oberoi as the villain, and even newcomer Aishwarya Desai in a big role.
Prabhas is reportedly starting a major physical transformation this month (May 2026) to get into “cop shape” before the main shoot resumes. So yeah, the machine is definitely moving.
I don’t know about you, but a March 2027 release date feels like a lifetime away, but at least we know the finish line hasn’t moved. Mark those calendars (again) and maybe ignore the “insider” leaks for a while. We’re still on track for one of the biggest face-offs in Indian cinema history.
