Telugu comedy thrillers usually come with a lot of chaos, random twists, and quirky characters — and JetLee looks like it’s bringing all of that in its own weirdly fun style. After its theatrical run, the film is now heading to OTT. JetLee will start streaming on JioHotstar from May 25.
Directed by Ritesh Rana, who is known for his offbeat style of storytelling, the film mixes comedy and thriller elements with a slightly eccentric tone. The movie stars Satya in the lead role, alongside Rhea Singha and Vennela Kishore in key roles.
What made people curious about JetLee during its release was mainly the unusual title and Satya’s presence in a full-length lead role. Known mostly for his comedy timing and scene-stealing supporting characters, Satya gets more space here, and the film reportedly leans heavily on his style of humor.
Ritesh Rana, who co-wrote and directed the film, seems to have gone again for a narrative that doesn’t completely follow the regular commercial template. There’s suspense, awkward comedy, bizarre situations, and characters who seem to constantly land in trouble.
The movie may not have arrived with massive hype, but it quietly built some attention among viewers who enjoy lighter thrillers with comedy woven into them. With its OTT release now locked, there’s a good chance JetLee could find a wider audience on streaming, especially among younger Telugu viewers looking for something casual and entertaining over the weekend.
