ETV Win:
Recently, ETV Win has been showing strong momentum. Among Telugu OTT platforms, ETV has been producing a large number of films. Movies like Little Hearts have given a good boost to ETV Win. Along with that, the 90 web series also helped sustain its momentum. By making films with budgets around ₹3 crores, they are steadily increasing content on their own OTT platform while also encouraging new talent. If a film releases in theaters and becomes a success, they consider it a bonus. Currently, ETV Win has around 7–8 projects in hand.
However, two consecutive disasters seem to have slowed down ETV Win’s pace. The recently released Sampradayini Suppini Suddapusa turned out to be a disaster. In fact, it was made primarily for OTT, but they believed in the film and promoted it heavily. Unfortunately, it didn’t yield results. Now, the situation is similar for Paapam Prathap. Compared to their earlier films, ETV Win had more confidence in this one and promoted it like never before. Still, the expected results did not come. Compared to Sampradayini, the collections are only slightly better—that’s all.
ETV Win has faced flops in the past as well. But those films weren’t promoted properly. Recently, however, they have been aggressively promoting their content, which is why people are talking about these films more. Even if a movie fails in theaters, ETV Win doesn’t suffer much loss because their main target is OTT. For them, having fresh content on their platform is what matters most. They are also selling some films to other OTT platforms. Sampradayini… was sold to Netflix. Now, it remains to be seen what they will do with Paapam Prathap.
