SK is Back in a Beastly Way: First Look at Seyon is Pure Rural Fire

If you thought Sivakarthikeyan was settling into a “sophisticated” phase after Amaran and Parasakthi, think again. The first look for his next biggie, Seyon (SK26), just dropped, and it’s basically a love letter to everyone who missed the “Mass SK” from his Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam days—but with a much grittier, sharper edge.

The poster hit social media on Monday evening, and let’s just say the internet didn’t stay quiet for long.

The Look: Peacocks, Sickles, and Pure Intensity

The first thing that grabs you is the sheer vibe. Siva is looking absolutely ripped and rugged, rocking a sleeveless vest and a veshti. He’s seated on what looks like a stone throne, with a massive long-handled sickle (arivaal) slung over his shoulder.

But it’s the background that’s got everyone talking. He’s surrounded by peacocks, and the title Seyon—one of the oldest Tamil names for Lord Murugan—makes the connection crystal clear. It feels like we’re getting a story deeply rooted in Tamil culture and folklore, likely set against the backdrop of a massive temple festival.

The Team: A Reunion of Giants

This project is special for a few reasons:

The RKFI Connection: This is Siva’s second outing with Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International after the massive success of Amaran. Clearly, the “Ulaganayagan” and the “Prince” have found a winning rhythm.

A Fresh Vision: It’s being directed by Sivakumar Murugesan. Interestingly, Siva is also producing the director’s debut film, Thaai Kizhavi (set to release Feb 27), so the trust level here is obviously through the roof.

The Musical Edge: For the first time, Santhosh Narayanan is scoring for an SK film. Given SaNa’s ability to blend folk and mass beats, the BGM for this is probably going to be insane.

What to Expect
While the plot is under wraps, the tagline “Veeram undu Vetri undu” (There is valor, there is victory) tells us exactly what we’re in for. Trade reports suggest this will be a high-octane rural commercial entertainer—the kind that makes the theaters shake with whistles. It’s reportedly a quick project, with a 60-day shoot planned to get it into theaters later in 2026.

With a teaser update expected tomorrow (February 17) to celebrate SK’s birthday, the hype is only going to get crazier.
