SS Rajamouli Says Varanasi Is 5–6 Times Bigger Than RRR: “We Saved 40 Days!”

Varanasi

If you thought SS Rajamouli’s RRR was huge in terms of scale, just wait until you hear what the director has to say about his next big project, Varanasi. According to Rajamouli, the upcoming film is going to be five to six times bigger in scale than RRR. That’s a pretty big statement, especially considering the kind of visual spectacle he delivered with his previous film.

In a recent statement, Rajamouli revealed that he did much more groundwork for Varanasi and entered the filming process better prepared than before. He also shared an interesting detail about the shooting schedule of both films.

Varanasi Is Bigger Than RRR in Scale

Rajamouli explained that shooting RRR took 315 days to complete. But despite Varanasi being much bigger in scale, the team managed to finish filming in just 275 days.

That means they saved around 40 days compared to RRR. The director credited the additional preparation and groundwork for helping the team move through the shoot more efficiently.

What makes this interesting is that a bigger film usually means more challenges, larger production requirements and plenty of things to manage on set. Still, Rajamouli says the team was able to complete the shoot in less time.

What Makes Varanasi So Special?

Rajamouli is known for making films that aim for a big-screen experience, and Varanasi is already attracting attention because of its reported scale. His comments suggest that the film has been planned on a much larger canvas than RRR.

Of course, a film’s scale is only one part of the experience. Audiences will also be curious about its story, performances, visuals and how everything comes together on screen. But when a director known for large-scale filmmaking says his new project is five to six times bigger than RRR, expectations are naturally going to rise.

Rajamouli Fans Have Another Big Film to Look Forward To

After the worldwide attention received by RRR, expectations for Rajamouli’s next film are understandably high. His latest comments have given fans another reason to discuss Varanasi, particularly the amount of preparation that went into making it.

The fact that the team reportedly completed filming 40 days faster than RRR, despite working on a much bigger scale, is another detail that stands out.

Now, the big question is how all that preparation and ambition will translate onto the big screen. If Rajamouli’s words are anything to go by, Varanasi is being made with an enormous vision.
