The issue between single-screen theatre owners and producers is still going on, but looks like the industry is trying to sort it out before things get worse.

A meeting happened on Friday under D. Suresh Babu at the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce office. Producers, exhibitors and others from the industry attended to discuss the percentage system related to movie screenings.

After the meeting, they decided to form a 15-member committee to study the issue properly. The committee is supposed to give its report within two months. According to C. Kalyan, the committee will have five producers, five exhibitors and five distributors.

He also said there won’t be any problem for movie releases in the meantime and they expect the matter to get resolved in the next couple of months.

A lot of producers were present at the meeting, including Allu Aravind, Dil Raju, Supriya Yarlagadda, Naga Vamsi and others. Around 50 producers reportedly attended. On the exhibitors’ side, people like Vijayender Reddy and Sridhar also joined the discussions.

No final decision yet, but at least both sides are talking now instead of dragging the issue furth.
