The Kerala Story 2 is coming to OTT on May 8… and yeah, it’s probably going to stir things up again

The Kerala Story 2:

The Kerala Story 2 Goes Beyond is finally landing on OTT. It’s dropping on ZEE5 on May 8, after its theatrical run earlier this year.

This one is a 2026 Hindi drama directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah. It’s basically a follow-up to the 2023 film The Kerala Story, and it continues in that same intense, heavy zone.

The story again follows three women — played by Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia, and Aishwarya Ojha — who end up trapped in an abusive situation after marrying outside their religion. It’s not light viewing at all. More like one of those films that hits you in a very uncomfortable way.

Before it even came out, the film was already in controversy territory. The teaser and trailer triggered a lot of debate, legal talk, political reactions… the whole thing. That kind of energy just stayed with it when it was released in theatres on 27 Feb 2026.

When it finally hit cinemas, reviews were kind of all over the place. Some people called it powerful, others weren’t impressed and felt it went too far or handled things poorly. So yeah, mixed to negative overall.

And now it’s heading to OTT, which honestly feels like it might give it a second life. Because let’s be real, a lot of people skipped it in theatres either because of the controversy or just the subject itself.

Now with ZEE5 streaming it from May 8, it’ll probably reach a much wider audience — and maybe even restart the same debates again, just online this time.

Love it or hate it, this is one of those films that doesn’t really sit quietly in the background.
