Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is showing good momentum ahead of its theatrical release, especially in the Hindi market.

As per the end-of-day advance booking figures for August 22, the film has sold around 74,000 tickets across the two major national chains.

PVR INOX: 65,000 tickets

Cinepolis: 9,000 tickets

Total: 74,000 tickets

That is a pretty encouraging number for the film at this stage. The bulk of the bookings are coming from PVR INOX, while Cinepolis has contributed another 9,000 tickets.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic features Yash in the lead role. The film also stars Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria and Huma Qureshi in important roles.

The film has been generating plenty of curiosity because of its combination of Yash, an interesting gangster-world setup and Geetu Mohandas’ distinctive filmmaking style. Yash’s popularity after the KGF films is obviously another major factor behind the excitement.

The latest booking numbers suggest that the interest isn’t limited to the South. The Hindi market appears to be responding well too, and that could be important for the film’s overall opening.

Of course, advance booking numbers are only one part of the picture. The number of shows, ticket prices, last-minute bookings and audience response after release will ultimately determine how big the opening becomes.

Still, 74,000 tickets across PVR INOX and Cinepolis is a strong early sign. If the booking pace picks up further, Toxic could be looking at a solid opening in the Hindi market.

For now, the focus is on the final advance booking numbers and, of course, the first-day box office. Yash’s next big-screen outing clearly has plenty of attention around it.
