Uppu Kappurambu: Keerthy Suresh as Village Sarpanch – Direct OTT Release!

Actress Keerthy Suresh is set to appear in a unique role as a village sarpanch in her upcoming satirical comedy film Uppu Kappurambu. Sharing her experience, Keerthy revealed that this is her first attempt in the satirical comedy genre and found the script to be quite fresh. She said, “This film was a completely new experience for me.” Keerthy also mentioned that she completed dubbing for the film in just five days, compared to the 11 days it took for Mahanati. “Except for Nenu Sailaja, I’ve dubbed for all my Telugu films myself,” she added. She also spoke proudly of director Shashi, son of renowned Malayalam filmmaker IV Sasi, and shared that her mother had once worked with him as well.

In the interview, actor Suhas, director Shashi, and producer Radhika joined the conversation. Suhas stated that he chose the project because of its unique story and wanted to experiment with a de-glam role that carries both seriousness and subtle humor. Director Shashi explained that his debut film Ninnila Ninnila was also made in Telugu, and with Uppu Kappurambu, they aimed to portray human emotions from a different angle. Producer Radhika added that considering the post-COVID theatrical scenario, they decided to opt for a direct OTT release in multiple languages to ensure it reaches a wider audience.
