Varun Dhawan Brings the Laughs: ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ Locks June 5 Release

  1. Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai finally has a proper date now. June 5. Locked (well… hopefully actually locked).

And honestly, this feels like a bit of a breather? Because everything lately has been delays, big-scale films getting pushed, reshuffled, all that. And then this one just quietly shows up like, “hey, we’re coming, and we’re here to make you laugh.” Not a bad vibe to have right now.

It’s also got Varun Dhawan front and center, which kinda tells you what you’re getting into. He doesn’t really do subtle in comedies. It’s loud, chaotic, sometimes messy—but when it works, it really works. And even when it doesn’t fully land, it’s still not dull.

The title alone—Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai—is very on-the-nose Bollywood. Like you can already imagine the kind of scenes: people falling in love too fast, misunderstandings, dramatic reactions over small things, probably a bunch of colorful songs. It’s that kind of film. You’re not going in expecting depth, you’re just there for a good time.

What might actually help it is the timing. With bigger, more “serious” films moving around or getting delayed, this could sneak in and grab attention. Early June, decent window, maybe not too crowded—could work in its favor if the trailer clicks.

Also, there’s barely any solid info out yet about the rest of the cast or story, which is kinda weird but also interesting? Feels like one of those movies that suddenly drops a trailer and everyone’s like “oh wait, this looks fun.”

At this point though, the main thing is simple: June 5 is the date. Whether it actually sticks… yeah, we’ve all seen how unpredictable release plans have been lately.

But if it does, this might end up being that easy, no-stress watch people didn’t realize they needed.
