It is already known that Venu Yeldandi, who gained fame with Balagam, is currently busy working on his new project Ellamma. The script work was completed long ago. Interestingly, music director Devi Sri Prasad is being introduced as a hero through this film.
At present, the film team is actively searching for a leading lady. Initially, they considered Sai Pallavi and even narrated the story to her. She showed interest in the project, but for some reason, things didn’t work out. Later, Keerthy Suresh was approached, and the team reportedly held multiple discussions with her, but she too opted out.
Names like Sreeleela and Bhagyashri Borse were also considered. Now, the makers are leaning towards Mrunal Thakur, and according to inside sources, her selection is almost finalized.
The heroine’s role in Ellamma carries significant importance. The team is looking for someone who has both star appeal and strong acting skills, which is why the search has taken so long. They now seem to have found that balance in Mrunal. She has already proven her acting prowess in films like Sita Ramam, and her performance in the recently released Decoyt has also received praise.
An official decision regarding Mrunal is expected soon. The team recently released an announcement teaser, and once the heroine is finalized, the shooting will commence.
