Alpha Movie Review:
Alpha is one of those movies that comes with quite a bit of baggage. Alpha is part of the YRF Spy Universe, but in this one, all the attention is focused on Alia Bhatt and Sharvari. Luckily, it works out rather well.
The movie has been directed by Shiv Rawail and revolves around two female agents whose lives become intertwined during a highly dangerous mission where everything revolves around trust, loyalty and survival.

It is safe to say that the main selling point of Alpha is that it manages to successfully combine elements of spy drama with lots of action, emotion and twists of fate along the way.
Speaking of which, there is no doubt that Alia Bhatt is the real star of the movie. She brings plenty of intensity to the role and she also looks very good in the action scenes. Sharvari also receives a decent part and shines in the more tense sequences. It is one of the highlights of the movie.
Apart from the two leads, the film also features such veterans as Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol. The latter plays the villain in this movie and he definitely brings his A-game here.

The movie is very action packed and stylishly shot, the fights are cool and exciting, and the story also tries to give you more than just a series of action scenes. It gives you a chance to see the emotions of the main characters as well.
At the same time, there are quite a few things that could be improved about the movie. First, it is quite predictable at times and relies too much on a familiar spy universe formula. Second, there are a few scenes that could have been cut since the story could move faster.
Overall: If you enjoy action movies with spies, missions and villains in them, then Alpha will give you all of this and a lot more. It is a movie that does what it needs to do and serves as an important step in the development of YRF Spy Universe.
Verdict: Alpha may not revolutionize the spy thriller genre, but Alia Bhatt and Sharvari give the movie enough excitement to be enjoyable. If you are looking for an exciting Hindi action thriller to watch on Netflix, then this one is for you.
