Baby Do Die Do Review:
There are some movies you start watching without expecting too much, and then they somehow keep you around till the end. Baby Do Die Do is pretty much that kind of film.
Released on Netflix recently, the Hindi film has been directed by Nachiket Samant, and it stars Huma Qureshi, Sikandar Kher, Chunky Pandey, Rachit Singh, Krishna Kumar, Seema Pahwa, Vidya Malvade, Himanshu Malik, Marudhar Shekhawat, Mangal Kenkare, and Pradeep Kabra.
It doesn’t take itself too seriously, which, probably, makes Baby Do Die Do work.
What works in it?
First and foremost, its cast. Qureshi has that screen presence that you would definitely expect from her, and Sikandar Kher fits right into the atmosphere of this somewhat chaotic film. Chunky Pandey gets a chance to prove himself yet again, showing that there are moments when he can be quite entertaining.

As for the supporting cast, it adds many moments of entertainment to the chaos going on in Baby Do Die Do. Seema Pahwa, in particular, can make even a short scene quite funny.
The directors clearly know the genre this film is and know that it should not be taken too seriously. It moves quickly, provides for a lot of surprises, and tries to entertain the viewer at all times.
And some times, it’s really enough.
But it is not flawless
While at that, Baby Do Die Do is not a film where everything goes right.
Firstly, the screenplay of the movie is rather unbalanced: there are some moments which are quite effective and some moments which seem like unnecessary additions made solely in order to move the plot ahead. Humour may be appreciated by someone while it won’t be to the liking of someone else since in case you want something funny which will happen constantly, you have to wait a bit longer.
Moreover, there are parts where the movie could have done without such exessiveness. There are many ideas in it, yet not all of them are equally effective.
However, the laid-back atmosphere of the movie allows overcoming some flaws.
Huma Qureshi and Sikandar Kher
Huma Qureshi can be easily counted among the main reasons to watch the movie since she manages to strike the balance between humour and keeping the character serious enough.
Sikandar Kher seems to perfectly fit into the surroundings, and his performance suits well in case the movie chooses to go the way of awkwardness and unpredictability.
Overall, they manage to give the movie some distinctive character.

The Netflix factor
It is not really necessary that you have to make a show of your viewing of it. If you are in the mood for a little light entertainment, put it on and watch where it takes you.
This movie is not trying to be an innovative addition to Hindi films.
There are enough instances of entertainment, a talented cast and an off-the-wall plotline to make it a decent watch once.
Final Verdict
“Baby Do Die Do” is an entertaining Hindi drama-comedy film that does well by just allowing things to get a bit crazy and letting the characters do their thing.
While there were some areas where the script could’ve been more refined and some jokes didn’t go through, the actors keep things going. This film is definitely one of those movies that should be on your list if you’re just browsing through Netflix for some out-of-the-ordinary films.
