Some Malayalam movies quietly land on OTT, and before you know it, everyone’s adding them to their watchlist. Dhoomakethu is now streaming on Netflix, and this time, language is no barrier. The film is available in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
Directed by Sudhi Maddison, the movie brings together an interesting mix of actors, including Sajin Gopu, Nikhila Vimal, Ganapathi, Shine Tom Chacko, Sidharth Bharathan and Manju Pillai. That’s quite a lineup, especially if you enjoy Malayalam cinema for its performers and the different shades they bring to their characters.
Sajin Gopu has been getting plenty of attention from movie lovers, and seeing him in another Malayalam release is reason enough for many to be curious. Add Shine Tom Chacko and Sidharth Bharathan to the mix, and you have a cast that certainly catches your eye. Nikhila Vimal and Manju Pillai round out the ensemble.

What makes the release of the movie interesting is that it is available in five different languages. In other words, even if you do not know how to speak in Malayalam, there is no need to worry because of the language barrier when you are giving the film a try.
Of course, just because the film features a known cast and is released through a new OTT platform does not mean that you will be having a great experience watching it. Whether or not the film Dhoomakethu will work for you will all depend on the way in which the plot of the film and performances by the actors are combined.
