Gamyam Movie Review:

Some movies don’t need a huge setup or over-the-top action to make an impact. ‘Gamyam’ is one such Telugu emotional drama. Now streaming on ETV Win, the film takes a simple idea and builds it around family, emotions and an unexpected bond between strangers.
Directed by R.P. Patnaik, ‘Gamyam’ premiered on August 16, 2026, as part of ETV Win’s KathaSudha – Sunday Stories lineup.

What Is Gamyam About?
The story revolves around Madhukar, a father whose world completely revolves around his daughter Harika. She is dealing with a mental health condition, and Madhukar takes care of her with a lot of love and patience.
One day, Madhukar gets into a cab driven by Ravi. It looks like an ordinary journey at first, but the meeting slowly turns into something much more meaningful. Ravi’s presence brings an unexpected change to Madhukar’s life and also creates a new emotional connection for the father and daughter.
The interesting part is that the movie focuses on a relationship that isn’t connected by blood. It asks a simple question — can a stranger become family through the bond you build with them?
Performances
Naveen Voleti gets the central responsibility of carrying the emotional side of the story, and his performance as Madhukar keeps the character grounded. The father-daughter relationship is where the movie gets most of its emotional weight.
Srinivas Chilukuri also makes his presence felt in the story, while Maitreyi, Arya Arjun and Pranathi contribute to the supporting cast.
What Works in Gamyam?
The biggest strength of Gamyam is its emotional core. The film doesn’t try to make everything unnecessarily complicated. Instead, it stays focused on relationships and the small moments that slowly bring people closer.
The father-daughter angle is particularly touching, while the friendship that develops through the cab journey gives the story its unique flavour.
The film also has a relatively simple setup, which makes it easy to connect with. If you enjoy emotional stories that concentrate more on characters than spectacle, this could be a good weekend watch.

What Could Have Been Better?
The movie’s slow and emotional approach may not work for everyone. Viewers expecting a fast-paced commercial entertainer might find some portions a little stretched.
A few scenes could have been tighter, especially where the story takes its time to establish the relationships. But if you are willing to go along with the film at its own pace, the emotional payoff works better.
Final Verdict
‘Gamyam’ is a warm and emotional Telugu drama that revolves around family, unexpected friendship and human connections. It may not be a loud or flashy movie, but that’s actually part of its charm.
If you are looking for a simple, emotional watch with a father-daughter bond at its heart, give ‘Gamyam’ a try on ETV Win.
