The Story
Ikka is set in the judicial system which can be very unfair and tricky. It is a legal story that puts two strong people against each other. As secrets are revealed and what is right and wrong becomes unclear the courtroom becomes a place where people fight to prove their point.
The Review
I think courtroom dramas are really exciting when they are made well. Director Siddharth P. Malhotra does a job with Ikka. In a time when big action moviesre popular this film focuses on good conversations, mind games and great acting.
Althea Kaushal wrote the story in a precise way. The story starts with a lot of tension. Keeps it real. Malhotra directed the film in a mature way so the tension never goes away.
What really makes Ikka great is its amazing cast.
Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna are two stars who are really good in this film. Sunny Deol is very intense and powerful. Akshaye Khanna is also great as an cynical lawyer. The way they talk to each other in the courtroom is the part of the film.

The other actors in the film are also very good. Tillotama Shome is great as always. Does not need to say much to make an impact. Dia Mirza is very graceful and emotional in her role. Sanjeeda Sheikh gives a touching performance that makes the film more emotional.
One small problem with the film is that it gets a bit slow in the middle. The story takes a time to set up the end and some parts may seem familiar to people who watch thrillers a lot.. The actors are so good that the story never gets boring.
The Verdict
Ikka is a film that goes back to the old style of cinema with a lot of conversations and strong characters. With Sunny Deol and Akshaye Khanna fighting, against each other and a great supporting cast it is an satisfying film to watch on the weekend.
