Inspector Avinash Season 2 Review:
Inspector Avinash Season 2 is out on JioHotstar and it pretty much starts exactly where you expect it to — noise, crime, guns, shouting, chaos… no warm-up at all.
It’s that old-school crime thriller vibe again, just bigger and messier this time. Based on the life of cop Avinash Mishra, the show once again puts Randeep Hooda right in the middle of everything. And honestly, he just owns this space. There’s no overacting, no “hero moment” stuff — just this tired, intense cop energy that feels weirdly believable even when the show goes full masala.
Direction is by Neerraj Pathak, and you can tell he’s going for that gritty, slightly rough crime-world tone. Not polished OTT gloss, more like “everything is dirty, everyone is shouting, and nobody really trusts anyone” kind of storytelling.
Urvashi Rautela is there in a more noticeable way this season, and yeah… some parts work, some feel a bit stretched or undercooked. But she does add screen presence at least. Amit Sial and Zakir Hussain do what they always do — quietly make everything feel more grounded so the chaos doesn’t completely float away.
The supporting cast like Shalin Bhanot, Rahul Mittra, Bidita Bag, Rajneesh Duggal, and others are all part of this big crime puzzle, but not every piece gets enough space to really breathe.
The thing is, the show moves FAST. Like, sometimes too fast. One thing happens, then another, then another… and you’re just trying to keep up more than actually sit with it. That energy is fun at first, but it also means some emotional bits don’t really land the way they should.
Still, there’s something addictive about it. Even when it’s messy. Even when it’s overstuffed. Especially if you’re here for raw cop drama, action-heavy storytelling, and Randeep Hooda basically holding everything together like glue.
It’s not neat. It’s not balanced. But it definitely keeps you watching.
