JC The University review:

ok so i watched JC The University on Sun NXT and yeah… I have mixed feelings about this one.
like, the film is trying to do a LOT. campus politics, fights, friendships, a bit of romance, some “system is broken” stuff… and sometimes it just feels like it’s throwing everything at you and hoping it sticks. some of it does, some of it really doesn’t.
Prakhyath Paramesh is basically carrying the film. He’s got that intensity, especially in the angry scenes. but then in some emotional parts, it feels a bit off? not terrible, just not fully there. Bhavana Reddy is nice to watch but her character feels kinda incomplete, like they didn’t know what to do with her after a point.
Rangayana Raghu though… he’s solid. like always. Even when scenes feel shaky, he somehow makes them work. Thriller Manju and Vijay Simha are fine, nothing bad, just not super memorable either.
the college setting actually works. it doesn’t feel fake or overly stylish. It’s a bit rough, a bit chaotic, which fits the story. Some of the fight scenes are actually engaging, even if they go slightly overboard sometimes.
but yeah, pacing is weird. first half drags… like you start checking how much is left. Then the second half suddenly speeds up and big things just happen very quickly without much buildup.
also the dialogues — some feel natural, like actual people talking. others feel like “hero punch dialogue incoming” and it’s a bit cringe.
still… idk, there’s something watchable here. it doesn’t feel fake or soulless. just… uneven. like you can see what they were going for, it just didn’t fully come together.
I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it either. just one of those films where you finish it and go “hmm… okay.”
