Not all stories are about winning. Some are about fighting through the pain of losing again and again. The latter is what this particular story is about, and indeed, there have been times when it left me with something even after the episodes were over.
Titled Jeet Ki Zid, this web series in Hindi directed by Vishal Mangalorkar on ZEE5, is a military drama based on the real-life story of Major Deep Singh. This is a story of a man who undergoes a complete change in his life and ends up having to fight an entirely different kind of battle.
A Tale of Courage, Suffering, and Persistence
What stands out about Jeet Ki Zid is that it does not depend solely on patriotic speeches and scenes to convey its message. Essentially, this is a story about a person who is fighting to make something of himself despite facing numerous hardships and difficulties.

The path of Major Deep Singh is a challenging one; there is suffering, frustration, emotional turmoil, and, most of all, there is persistent determination. The message of the series is that, at times, true courage may not be about not being afraid. It might just be about continuing your walk one more step.
While it is obvious that the series uses a tried-and-true formula of inspirational drama, sometimes it becomes somewhat predictable.
Amit Sadh Is the Heart of the Series
One of the major factors to catch Amit Sadh in Jeet Ki Zid is that he adds the element of intensity and vulnerability in his role as Major Deep Singh. His portrayal of Major Deep Singh is so natural that the character seems to be a real-life character rather than being a superhero.
One of the elements in his acting which stands out is that he does not merely display intense moments of anger, strength or courage. There are many instances of helplessness and frustration of someone who finds himself in an unexpected situation.
Emotional intensity is added to the film through Amrita Puri and a good screen presence by Sushant Singh. Paritosh Sand, Mrinal Kulkarni, Aly Goni, Gagan Randhawa, Preet Karan Phawa and Diwakar Dhayani contribute to the film in their respective roles.
Works and Does Not Work
Undoubtedly, the most effective aspect of the series is the message the authors wanted to convey. One should understand that sometimes, being determined means suffering and going through the difficulties and limitations and discovering one’s motivation.
Additionally, the military background brings some seriousness and professionalism to the plot and personal problems of the main character give this series some uniqueness. However, it should be admitted that in some episodes the pace was rather inconsistent and the emotions were expressed differently. Also, there were some moments when it became obvious that one could predict what would happen next. Such feeling comes because there were already many inspirational stories of this kind.
However, it should be noted that the acting makes up for all the shortcomings.
Conclusion
Jeet Ki Zid is not a flawless show, but at least it has an honest story and acting that provides it with enough emotional depth. Amit Sadh plays Major Deep Singh in such an interesting manner that his character’s life becomes quite captivating, and the lesson of resilience the series teaches has something important to say and isn’t entirely lost amidst the drama.
If you like military dramas, realistic shows about people and events in their lives, and those shows where characters never give up despite difficult situations, you will definitely want to watch it.
Conclusion: An emotional and inspirational drama that works well in focusing on human struggle behind the hero.
